Over 120 women recently attended the 4th Annual Patchwork of Life Conference on Saturday, April 23, 2016. Trillia Newbell shared her experiences and challenged the audience to consider the Christian and scriptural view on the subject of Diversity. How are we to consider and embrace those who do not look like us? What role does race play in God’s plan? Many were blessed and challenged by the message.
Becky Rusk was a great MC as she guided the women throughout the program of music and sharing the Word of God. Special Music was provided by Mycah Brooker, who sang two songs for the enjoyment of the audience. Pat Yeager provided direction for a tasty brunch, which was enjoyed by all those present. In keeping with the spirit of the gathering, Music Director Judith Calhoun ended the seminar with a performance of Amazing Grace sung in three languages, English, Spanish and Vietnamese. Judith handled the English verses, while Linda Zavala sang the Spanish version, followed by Sac Toa who provided the Vietnamese ending.
Our thanks go out to all the women who volunteered their time to make this year’s conference a success.
